Is politics and acting genetic?
If you look at number of political families of india and Bollywood families you will be surprised. In both categories it covers majority of the people in their respective profession (mainstream and percentage wise).
We are seeing it since years and thats why probably never bothered to think and ask why its this way. Is it because the acting and politics flowing their DNA? of-course not, I don’t think it needs any scientific proof. Lets take one by one and see if we can come to any conclusion or possible reasons.
Bollywood
- Because parents are so rich, they want to pass their legacy and continue holding their presense/stack in the industry. (Amitabh Bachaan -Abhisek Bachaan, Rakesh Roshan - Hritik Roshan, Firoz Khan - Fardeen Khan, Jitendra - Tushar Kappor and many more ) though in this case parents can afford to launch their son/daughter so many times and afford to loose money until they become successful at the loss of people’s money which they spend on tickets. e.g. Tushar Kappor, Fardeen Khan.
- Siblings see that their brothers and sisters are successful or living shining life.
- The hit and Super Hit formula is so vague now, that producers makes money on first weekend itself. So when you have good bank balance, its very easy to become producer. (e.g. Rhea Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Gauri Khan, Twinkle Khanna etc. You don’t really need have any proven record as long as you are ready to bet money and have contact with good directors.) Though producer in Bollywood is merely a financier and not sure how much math they do apart from betting all on the actor.
- The other one might be because its entertainment heavy environment in the house since childhood, and as there are many other professions apart from acting in the industry, they would have option to choose one. No complain for this one. (forgetfulness!)
Without taking much on this topic, I think you got the gist of what I am trying to convey is Bollywood, movie, tv set is still fine as its not affecting people directly, its entertainment, and its optional in people’s life (even though people spend good amount of time behind it) Lets check for politics.
Politics
Getting into politics is no joke, but still families are so arrogant that they think that its Bollywood/movies and they can launch their son-dauther-jamai at the expense of supports and tax payers and take people for granted. (Thankfully because of AAP its changing or it will change in near future where people will think twice before drawing family tree in politics.)
- There are various reasons, though I’ll start with obvious one first. Because there are people who spent years and years in power, they think that people owe me one and they should give same respect and chance to their kids (e.g. mulayam singh, sonia gandhi - both cases it went wrong respective akhilesh yadav, and rahul gandhi.)
- I think the other reason is the child gets the position, facilities and reservation easily at all the places, and they think that its best profession (as of-course its easy to just join something by claiming that they raised in the environment and they would like to help people when the reality is something else.
- Its easy for anyone given their parents lavish tenure in the domain. Highly rewarding (financially as well as socially.)
- There are some chances where someone grew up seeing the good cause of the parent and would like to join politics to further help. Feel free to add those example in comments if you know about it.
Now its people needs to think, who they want as their leader and why they want that person. Just because his/her family is in politics since year that doesn’t mean that person is capable to be their leader.
Candidate has to be nobel, kind and smart, needs to connect with people and have a honest past, otherwise its not old india where people were thinking that leader is ‘mai-bap’ and its ok to show the face just before election and then not to show the face to people for next 5 years. Those days were old, people have become more aware and conscious, more than anything educated and media gave them clear face (not all, but competition and few people in media changing that). It would be better for people to take charge and ask burning questions to themselves as well as their leader that what they want?, and why them?
